It’s official: Jakarta Governor Jokowi will run for president

Hans David Tampubolon and Yuliasri Perdani, The Jakarta Post, Jakarta | Headlines | Sat, March 15 2014, 8:19 AM
After a long wait and endless speculation, the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) has finally announced what many had predicted: the nomination for president of Jakarta Governor Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.
PDI-P deputy secretary-general Puan Maharani made the announcement at the party’s central board headquarters in Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta, on Friday by reading out an official letter of instruction handwritten by her mother, PDI-P chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri, during a press conference.
“I want all elements within the nation to fully support Joko Widodo as the official presidential candidate of the PDI-P,” Puan said while quoting Megawati’s instructions. “All PDI-P members must also do their best to ensure our victory in the legislative election by closely monitoring each ballot station to prevent fraud and intimidation in any form.”
PDI-P secretary-general Tjahjo Kumolo said that Megawati made her decision to nominate Jokowi after closely watching the latest political developments in the country and after receiving numerous inputs from various elements from both the party and the general public. “After receiving these inputs and considering the most recent developments up until last night, Bu Mega believes that this is the perfect opportunity to channel the positive momentum for us,” Tjahjo said.
Due to the growing popularity of Jokowi, numerous elements within the PDI-P have been pushing Megawati to seize the moment by officially announcing him as a presidential candidate so that the party can gain a major advantage during the legislative election and, thereby, secure a large proportion of the seats at the legislative level.
On Wednesday, Megawati took Jokowi to visit the grave of her father, Indonesia’s first president, Sukarno, in Blitar, East Java. This move was seen by many as Megawati’s way of implying that she had already given her blessing to the incumbent Jakarta governor to run for the presidency. Previously, many had speculated that Megawati, who has never won a presidential election, would run for president for a third time this year.
The PDI-P’s rivals responded coolly to the nomination of Jokowi, who is arguably the toughest candidate in the upcoming election. “We welcome [Jokowi’s nomination]. There is nothing to worry about,” National Mandate Party (PAN) chairman and Coordinating Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa said after a meeting at the National Police headquarters in South Jakarta on Friday.
Hatta said that his party had prepared a set of strategies that would make them stand out in the upcoming legislative and presidential elections. “The party always has strategies. We have PAN’s eight action plans, which are the agenda of PAN campaigners. PAN legislative hopefuls will convey our vision.”

My comment :

`I think the presence of competition Jokowi in the 2014 presidential election will give new color to Indonesian politics. He hopes, Jokowi remains a figure who loved his people, the public welfare, to build new Indonesia and capable of making Indonesia the country and respectable nation in the arena of international relations.

If successful Jokowi became President, he expects the figure it can perform like blusukan Capital structuring acceleration integrated with the city and I think the buffer zone lainnya.dan Jokowi have had problems understanding the capital of Jakarta.

"Program monorail, subway, giant sea wall walk. Later Sunda Strait bridge, modernization of ports, airports doubletrack railroad, and the arrangement of the Old Town, can be more easily realized and Indonesia into a country that is better than the previous year.

And I hope everyone will agree that Jokowi deserve to be president because the current Indonesian society wants populist leader figure and able to work in a real and not just promises. Such figures exist on Jokowi. Communities are smart to judge the right person to lead this nation. Who would want Jokowi because he was modest and always wanted to work for the people,

strategies for the Listening Comprehension

Test of English as a Foreign Language TOEFL is a test of English language proficiency (an American accent) who is required to register go to college (college) or university in the United States or other countries in the world. This exam is required for applicants whose native language or the speaker is not English. TOEFL exam is organized by the office of ETS (Educational Testing Service) in the United States to test all participants throughout the world.

TOEFL English language test types are generally required for college entrance requirements in almost all universities in the United States and Canada for both undergraduate program (S-1) or graduate (S-2 or S-3). TOEFL test results are also used as a material consideration of English language proficiency of prospective students who apply to universities in other countries, including universities in Europe and Australia. In general, the TOEFL test is more oriented to American Home, and a few different types of IELTS which is oriented to the British Home. Unlike the IELTS test, TOEFL test is in general not have the individual parts of the interview test.

Usually, this test takes about three hours and held in 4 sections, namely
sections:
• listening comprehension,
• Grammar structure and written expression,
• reading comprehension, and parts
• writing.

The value ranging from exam results TOEFL: 310 (minimum) to 677 (maximum value) for the version of the PBT (paper-based test).
Since 1998, the TOEFL test is conducted online using a computer (Computer-based Testing / CBT), and since 2005 called the iBT (Internet-based Test). In places that have not been able to carry out CBT or iBT (because there are no computer facilities and internet networks), the TOEFL test is still conducted manually using paper and pencil (paper-based test or PBT). More information about CBT tests and paper-based TOEFL relating to registration, venue, cost, and test preparation materials can be viewed on the official website of the TOEFL, http://www.toefl.org (CBT version of the TOEFL exam results have value ranges from 0 to 300, while the value for the iBT is from 0 to 120) .
Lately organizers also held a kind of TOEFL test TWE (Test of Written Home), which results in value is separate from the TOEFL test scores. This test takes 30 minutes, and participants will be asked to write a short essay that describes the ability of participants to express and translate an idea or ideas, and supporting the idea with the examples found in daily life using the English language standard.
Another type of test is TSEP TOEFL (Test of Spoken Home Program) which is similar to the individual interviews on the IELTS test. They are usually used when we want to register as a teaching assistant or lab assistant (as one way to offset the cost of tuition) in universias in the U.S. (or other countries.) Form tests conducted orally and lasts for approximately 20 minutes. Implementation time and the deadline for registration together with other TOEFL tests, and costs approximately U.S. $ 100.

There are several common strategies for the Listening Comprehension:
  1.  Understand the forms of the command (direction) in each section (part) well before D-day exam.
  2. Read the options on each question as much as possible when the narrator is reading direction and example problems (example).
  3. Listen with full concentration and focus your attention on the conversation you are listening.
  4. Maximize your listening skills on the first questions in each part.

There are three sections in Listening Comprehension sessions. These parts are :
·         Part A. This section consists of thirty short conversation (short conversations) between two people, both men and women. Each conversation ended with a question. You are required to choose one of the answer choices (A, B, C, and D) the most precise available on the question paper. The questions in Part A number ranging from 1 to 30.
·         Part B. This section consists of two long conversations (longer conversations) between two people, both men and women. Each conversation is followed by four questions. You are welcome to choose the best answer (A, B, C, and D). The questions in Part B starting from number 31 to 38.
·         Part C. The final section consists of three long speeches (talks) and only involves one person (monologue). Usually in the form of academic lectures or describe someone who was giving a lecture. Each talk is followed by four questions. You are required to answer by selecting one best answer. The questions in Part B starting from number 39 to 50.
